Wan He Lou Chinese Restaurant

Lobster is my all time favourite seafood and I am happy to be invited to a Chinese cuisines restaurant located at the heart of Jalan Besar to have a taste of their award winning Chef Lau's Original Signature Lobster Porridge together with their soon-to-be release set meat. PS, I skipped my breakfast for this.

Shark's fin soup with crab meat and conpoy
Shark fin soup is an luxury item in Chinese cuisine which is serve during special occasion. Start your meal and indulge yourself with this fresh shark fin soup. Just to let you know, all shark fin are tasteless however the way the chef brew it with the help of other soup ingredients made this bowl of shark fin soup very delicious and not very watery nor starchy.

Braised Yee Fu noodles with Lobster
Lobster is very hard to find in most restaurant as you have to pre-order even if they have, at Wan He Lou Lobster is always available and not to be missed out on your visit. The noodles they use in this dish is a flat Cantonese egg noodles made from wheat flour which most people call it "yi mien", the lobster they use might look small but it have a sweet and irresistible taste. Slurpppps~

Dessert
Dessert was served after we have done with all the dishes. You can find Mango flavoured nata de coco, Strawberry macaroons and Chocolate ice-cream in the welled magarita glasses.

Dine in at Wan He Lou to celebrate your reunion dinner this Chinese New Year, set meal will be available from 1st January 2014 onwards.

Below are the ala carte items that I have tried which is not included in the Chinese New Year set meal

Signature Lobster Porridge - $29.90
I almost drool when this dish was served. Lobster that is served in this bowl of broth came with soften rice, this is cooked in the Teo Chew style. Unlike those rice+soup porridge, this porridge that Wan He Lou served is very soft and the soup does not taste very mild but acceptable. Best thing is that they have lobster in it.

Pan Fried Kurobuta Pork - $14.90
If you love highly flavoured dish then this would be the one for you. Kurobuta pork is the world best pork and famous for their intensely flavoured meat and fats. This kind of meat comes from a black hog called Berkshire pig, it is a rare breed of the pig family originated from England.

Crispy Lotus with Salted Egg - $11.90
This dish caught my attention the most when it was being served to us, the fragrant of the salted egg was very strong. Salted egg is one of my favourite cooking style and lotus was slices up into very thin pieces cooked with basil leaves and chili padi. I just couldn't stop snacking on this while I was having my meals, this is a must order dish when you visit Wan He Lou!

What I like about this place is I can have lobster any time I want and they have no service charge and GST!
