Egg-scue me? Did I hear a new F&B establishment offering salted egg dishes popping up in Singapore again?!
Xian Dan Chao Ren [XDCR], or [Your Salted Egg Hero], is a brand-new food kiosk offering a salted egg galore has launch at Punggol Waterway. When I first heard of it, I told myself I've got to travel all the way to try them, even if I'm located at the west side of Singapore.
ReviewAs a fan of salted egg food myself, I couldn't help but travel to Punggol Waterway Point just to try out Xian Dan Chao Ren. Their launch menu revolves around 5 superhero ingredients: Chicken, Pumpkin, Mantou, Lotus Root, and Fish.
I like that over here we can actually customise our own salted egg box, by choosing the number of ingredients, selecting our style of wet or dry salted egg, and also have the option to add rice. By the way, their box comes in three size, regular, up-size, trio, and platter.
Since, today there's only two of us and we wanted to try everything so we choose to get the Ultimate team-up platter in wet with dry style, and Chicken combo with rice.
It's a kiosk concept and we are hungry so, we got to find a place nearby to enjoy our salted egg fest.
MaoQi favourite is the Pumpkin because it's her preferred choice of carbohydrates, and mine is the fish because they are at an affordable price point and tender to chew on with no fishy taste.

AboutXian Dan Chao Ren 咸蛋超人 (Your Salted Egg Hero) revolves around the salted egg heroes’ theme, with Chicken donning the duck egg costume - on a mission to make all food tastier by evangelising all the other food to dress up with salted egg sauce. This also echoes the founders' intention to bring the salted egg gastronomical experience for every customer, in a superhero way.
This venture is spearheaded by a group of young yet experienced entrepreneurs between their 20s to 30s, who led successful sell outs at events for the various signature salted egg dishes as well as running other businesses on top of their latest adventure – XDCR.
Taking into account traditionally cherished Chinese finger food, the team envisions a kiosk that is different from the usual food kiosk – by specialising only in creating dishes that revolve around salted egg themes. Every meal experience is guaranteed to leave everyone with a memorable, flavourful, savoury good time with their signature salted egg difference.
