Planning Julius’ 100-Day Celebration

The first 100 days with Julius have flown by in the blink of an eye, and what better way to celebrate this milestone than with a heartfelt party surrounded by loved ones? Planning this event was both exciting and rewarding, and with the right vendors and a bit of strategy, everything came together beautifully. Here’s how I planned this special day for our little one, plus some tips based on my experience to help you with your own celebration!

Venue: Lollyspace

We chose Lollyspace for its cozy yet spacious setup, I like that they have a nursing room there as I'm still breastfeeding. The family-friendly environment also has an arcade and and kids play are to keep my guest and their child occupied, there's also KTV and mahjong table ensuring guest of all ages can be entertained. Having ample space to host 100 guest also made it the perfect venue.

Catering & Table Setup: Kryston Catering

Food is the heart of every celebration, and Kryston Catering delivered a delicious buffet spread that satisfied every guest. They also handled the thematic table setup with Under The Sea theme, which saved us time and ensured everything looked cohesive.

We had too much food that the main area didn't have enough space to serve. Luckily there's still space outside the play area, and Kryston had prepared extra equipments to setup at another corner so here we had our buffet spread extended. There's also an option to keep the food at one corner until it guests finish the 1st round then we bring out the 2nd serving.

For the buffet we ordered The Kryston Choice A:

  1. Yang Chow Wok Fried Rice
  2. Wok Fried Beancurd with Pacific Clam
  3. Lemon Butter Baked Fish
  4. Fragrant Cereal Prawn
  5. Mushroom Baked Chicken
  6. Sotong You Tiao & Breaded Scallop
  7. Steamed Mini Soon Kueh
  8. Honeydew Sago
  9. Blackcurrant

Pointed Ang Ku Kueh: Celebox

Celebox provided beautifully crafted pointed Ang Ku Kueh, a traditional must-have to symbolize longevity and good fortune. Guests loved the low in sugar and addictive free Ang Ku Kueh so much that we were glad we prepared additional pieces for them to bring home.

Cakes & Cupcakes: Yours Sincerely Bakery

The dessert table stole the show, thanks to Yours Sincerely Bakery. We ordered a stunning 3-tier cake (6-inch, 9-inch, and 12-inch) for 80 pax, along with matching cupcakes. We worked with Yours Sincerely Bakery to estimate the right cake size and number of cupcakes based on our guest count, they also created a photo-worthy backdrop that tied in beautifully with the party’s theme. We provided them with our theme and they took care of the rest. Along side, we included a diaper cake from Diaper Cake Avenue.

Photography & Videography: @theconfettiboothsg

We wanted to document every joyful moment as I might be busy nursing or even going around hosting guests, so I got @theconfettiboothsg to capture the essence of the day beautifully with actual-day photography and videography. To get the best shot, we scheduled the cake-cutting and family photo sessions during Julius’ happiest time of the day—after his nap and feeding time!

Few days before the event, we also decided to add-on a photoboot and it was such a hit! 🎉

Everyone had so much fun taking photos, GIFs, and boomerangs. They could also add funny digital props and edits right at the booth. Guests could even send their pictures instantly to phone, which was super convenient! With selection of landscape or vertical ratio, it makes posting onto social media way easier too.

The team also nailed the custom border design to match our Under The Sea theme perfectly. Click into the post to view some of the photos / GIF I have uploaded, I find the last photo is Julius with the funniest edits ever. I can’t stop laughing every time I see it, wonder who is the culprit over there 😆

Maternity & 3-Month Photoshoots: Stephanie Teo Photography

Before the 100-day celebration, we worked with Stephanie Teo Photography to capture beautiful maternity and 3-month milestone photos to feature at the party, creating a heartfelt touch to feature on the TV at the event space for guest to view.

Our guests loved seeing Julius’ journey from bump to baby!

Diaper Cake Decorations: Diaper Cake Avenue

Diaper Cake Avenue created adorable diaper cake decorations that added charm to the party. This was from Baby Julius 1st month and we repurpose it as a part of the decoration. These diaper cakes were both functional gifts and lovely centerpieces.

Final Thoughts

Planning Julius' 100-day party was a labor of love, and seeing our friends and family come together to celebrate was priceless. From the delicious food to the thoughtful decorations and heartfelt gifts, every element reflected the joy and gratitude we felt.

My Advice to Fellow Parents:

  1. Delegate when you can. Trust your vendors and let them handle the heavy lifting.
  2. Stay flexible. Things may not go perfectly, but the love and joy of the day will shine through.
  3. Document the day. Photos and videos are keepsakes you’ll cherish forever.

I hope these tips, vendor recommendations, and personal touches inspire you as you plan your own celebration. Here’s to creating beautiful memories for your little one’s milestones!
