Urbanski Summer Ski Culture Event

Got to try the up and coming new sports in Singapore! We don't get to experience winter in Asia, but that doesn't mean you can't experience the thrill of skiing without burning a hole in your pocket by traveling to far-flung resorts in Japan or Europe.

About Rollerski/ SummerSki

Urbanski provides a whole new experience for us to enjoy skiing in tropical countries with rollerskis
(skis-on-wheels) in golf resorts. The beautiful landscapes and undulating terrain in golf courses are
the most pleasurable and safest spaces to enjoy rollerski.
  • There are 120 million skiers worldwide
  • Asian market takes up about 17%, according to the 2015 Report done by Snow and Mountain Tourism
  • People often visit the USA, Europe, and even Japan when it comes to skiing
  • Skiing is seasonal as it requires snow, but not everyone enjoys the cold
  • With Urbanski, enthusiasts will be able to ski anytime anywhere

Used to be seen as an extreme sport but rollerskis have been redesigned for the everyman:
  • Level 1 – Trainer skis, safe, slow, stable with minimum danger and maximum fun
  • Level 2 – Intermediate skis
  • Level 3 – Pro-skis
How it works

Review about my experience

It's easy to get the hang of this recreation activity. It may look dangerous and intimidating to balance on a roller ski, but the look is deceiving. The roller ski is easy to wear and control, I started by learning how to walk by going sideways and up the stairs, then using the body gravity by leaning front to accelerate and back to break. It is a safe sport I can say, just need to get used to the controls and it's good to go, even on a high slope. Definitely, something new to look forward to if your Friends and Family are looking for what to do in Singapore. Just within a trial class, I manage to ski down a slope without support, and it's not as scary as I thought.
