Mygenlife Whitening Nectar Drink

Monday, December 30, 2013
If you know or have read about it, I have been taking up whitening supplements in pill for years just because I have natural tan and my skin will not get sunburns but always becomes dark easily. Many people will ask me if it is effective in helping my skin to become fairer or not, I can only tell you that the pill I am taking will not take immediate effect if you want to become fairer but it does helps in speeding up the skin metabolism and have some side effect. I am still in the midst of looking for product that will make me fairer other than getting an injection, not because I am scare of pain it is because that method is way too expensive for me.

So... what does whitening mean to you? Things that come into most people mind when they hear about whitening is becoming fairer. There are right and wrong about this answer. Not all whitening product will make you fair, some is created for fair people with skin pigmentation and uneven skin tone to even the skin out. IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAIRER, you might want to try bleaching your skin instead(just saying).

The day before I set off to Bangkok I have receive an sponsorship invitation by SampleStore to try the latest Beauty Supplement drinks that will be launched in stores this December! I am so excited and can't wait to try it when I am back.

Mygenlife Whitening Nectar Drink
Helps to even out skin tone, lighten skin blemishes, pigmentation and promote lasting fairness from within. Only need to take 1 bottle a day! In just 28 days, you will achieve a fairer radiant and glowy look. (Results may vary)

Itoh Collagen Powder

Sunday, December 29, 2013

What is Collagen?

Collagen is the main component of connective tissue making up about 25% to 35% of the whole body protein content and it is vital for our skin elasticity.

Where can Collagen be found?

Collagen can be found in the fibrous tissues such as tendons, ligaments and skin, and is also abundant in corneas, cartilage, bones, blood vessels, the gut, and inter-vertebral discs.

Why do we need Collagen?

PS. I have just turned 20 few days ago.
(Believe it or not) Collagen level will decrease as we age especially after the age of 25, it means that skin will sag and that's how people look old, collagen is also a major component of the hair and nails. I was told about this 3 years ago when I was still a beauty apprentice, back then I was still considered young so I was not bothered by it but right now ageing is going to be a concern in life for me.

How to gain Collagen?

Collagen can often be found from food that you eat daily BUT the amount can never be enough to regain firmness, suppleness and constant renewal of skin cell.

In this post I am going to try out Itoh Collagen Powder sponsored by Samplestore. A Color-less, Tasteless, Non-Sugar and Non-fat Collagen Powder? Now I shall put it to the test.

Siam Paragon IMAX, Siam Discovery, Baiyoke Buffet

Friday, December 27, 2013
Today marks my 6th monthsary together with YongSheng and I have been planning ahead for this day as I know that we will be in Bangkok so we must make use of it to do something special that can never be found in Singapore.

1st stop: Siam Paragon IMAX

Siam Paragon is one of the biggest shopping mall in Asia and it is also a luxury mall so how can we not visit?! Ok la, actually the main purpose here is for the cinema cause from what I found online this cinema has a hall that come with sofa couple seat with blanket, pillow, wine and cake. Such an indulgence.

The cinema was located at one of the highest level of the mall which we took long to locate it

It's cinema is also equipped with a machine operated ticket machine for movie ticket, how convenient

Around the cineplex there is a corner for IMAX Theatre ticket, because we wanted the best seat therefore we purchase the most expensive ticket and and and they sell CHEESE POPCORN here too which I think that it is damn delicious and Singapore should improvise on this flavour too.

Here is the escalator up to the IMAX hall

They also have a waiting area here, somehow I feel that this IMAX is more of a premium theatre

The entrance to the cinema hall

This is a super duper big hall and the biggest cinema hall I ever seen in my life, we also have to climb all the way up to get to our seat

And yea, this is our seat. It is quite spacious actually

IMAX theatre cinema hall is also not as crowded compared to the normal cineplex maybe is because of the price different but then I really love the ultra big clear screen and sound system.

Movie ticket cost 600฿ which is around $25sgd per ticket and I think that it is think is very worth it for a higher class standard seat and viewing experience.

2nd Stop: Siam Discovery

I actually wanted to get a Chanel jelly sandals from Siam Paragon however it was already sold out. While walking around Siam Paragon thinking of what to get for myself to replace that sandals I saw a lady carrying an Issey Miyake Bao Bao, this brand is quite well known in Bangkok also so I thought why not I get one for myself since it was on my 2013 Christmas Wishlist. And I went crazy searching for this brand around Paragon cause since we are at town area so it should be easy to find, after asking around for direction we finally reach one of Issey Miyake Bao Bao boutique at Siam Discovery.

Oya! Boyfriend also bought a Marc by Marc Jacobs phone casing for me cause I am eyeing for it when we stepped into the store. Prior to making payment we were told that there is a 50% discount on this casing #ohmygod #iloveit

Baiyoke Buffet

We took a tuk-tuk from Siam Discovery to Baiyoke Sky Tower, it was very hard to get a transport during evening time at this area especially when we are carrying shopping bags as the driver will tends to charge us overly high price for the trip. At last we got on a tuk-tuk and the driver was having a small chat with us but I somehow can't trust him for what he said because of our previous experience, I felt so bad that I did not even give him a mutual trust but sorry I can't help it. Most important thing is still being able to reach our destination.

Security here was quite tight but well managed. We do not have the freedom to choose our seat, food selection here are also quite limited therefore I did not eat much.

Live musical performances hype up the whole mood not long after we have arrive

After dinner we walk around the exhibition area for some photo taking before heading up to the 360 degree revolving roof deck

After some walking and climbing we finally got up and and we were amaze, I never imagine that there I will be at a place like that

It is hard to explain the feeling of being up there, it was kind of bored while waiting for the deck to turn but exciting and the weather also added some fun into my experience as it was freaking cold and windy up there.

This is how the deck look like, we just have to stand there and it will rotate by itself.

Overall it was a great experience and happy day for me but I find that the price for Baiyoke Buffet is really NOT worth it.

Central World, Din Tai Fung

Thursday, December 26, 2013
Somehow I felt that today was a short day cause walking around in Central World have already took us a lot of time, the mall is damn huge I tell you and easily to get lost. Today was our last 3rd day to spend in Bangkok so our budget got tighter because tomorrow is gonna be a day for celebration and we have to choose our item wisely if we were to shop this day. One great thing is that we got to have Din Tai Fung in Bangkok for our dinner and their price is so much cheaper compare to Singapore, don't ask why aren't we eating the local food here. Who doesn't have craving?

Grand Alpine Hotel, Pantip Plaza, Platinum Mall

Wednesday, December 25, 2013
Woke up early in the morning and prepare to set off to our next hotel at Pratunam area. Staff at Bangkok Loft Inn help us to get a taxi making sure that we can reach our next destination safety. I wish that we could stay here for our whole Bangkok trip but sadly we have already purchase an deal for a hotel.

This is the standard taxi fare in Thailand, I saw this chart in the taxi and decided to capture it so that you all can have a reference

Grand Alpine Hotel

“Not a good place to stay in.” Rating: 2/5
I was there on the 25th - 28th December 2013. When I got there by taxi and was shocked to see how remotely the hotel was located, the hotel staff said they have free tuktuk service from the hotel to the nearest bts station, which I think is good but when I use the tuktuk service, the driver brought us to a street and told us to walk towards the bts which was at least 100m away. Returning to the hotel at night is another problem, can't walk back from main street because it's too dark and dangerous plus its not a short walk. Have to take a tuktuk or a taxi to go there. The hotel provide ONLY a bathe towel and 2 bottles of complimentary drinks. There are some weird smell when I on the aircon and the water heater is not very good, as in the hot water come and go and the basin is outside the bathroom. There are no "please clean my room" or "do not disturb" tag, when I was sleeping and suddenly a cleaner knocked my room door and come in just like that! What if i'm bathing or changing? Street stall can be found on our way in and out of the hotel, however the road is very cramp so DO NOT ever take a taxi in. (Find our way in also got problem lor I tell you.)

Lucky we have hotel tuk-tuk service to shuttle us out. Reason why is because there's no way you can get a cab here, maybe there's a possible for tuk-tuk but most of the tuk-tuk driver here only wants your money.

Pantip Plaza

Upon reaching our next destination the tuk-tuk driver drop us at a minor road asking us to alight and we were told to walk there by foot, he did not send us to our destination cause it was inconvenient for him.

So here we are, after a short walk we arrive at Pantip Plaza. We have to cross the bridge in order to reach there. CAUTION: The steps is very high and bumpy, I fell down while climbing up.

Pantip Plaza is a mall that sells IT related stuffs, similar to Singapore Sim Lim Square

Loots from Pantip Plaza, chirp chirp~

Petchaburi Road, opposite Pratunam's City Complex
Opening Hours: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm

Platinum Mall

Walk out from Pantip Plaza, turn right then walk all the way straight and here we are at Platinum Mall.
Platinum is a hotel and a mega mall that sells clothes and accessories, you may even find some stall with wholesale price. Food stall are hardly to be seen here.

What's good about this mall is they have prayer room for our Muslim friends

Outside Platinum Mall you will be able to see a flea market, some items they are selling here are handmade and quirky.

Because we arrive at the mall near to their closing time so most of the shops is already closed but we are lucky enough to find this shop that sell wholesales self design t-shirts and we bought lots of them.

They are located at Level 4,
1 FOR 200฿ each
3 FOR 170฿ each
6 FOR 150฿ each
12 and above FOR 120฿ each

Chinatown(Yaowarat), MBK, Siam Square

Tuesday, December 24, 2013

This post is mainly concentrating on food featuring Nam Sing Bird Nest Co, Ha Kee Lim Jing Hieng Co and Yayoi Restaurant

Today will be the last day of our stay in Bangkok Loft Inn and will be changing to another hotel at Pratunam area tomorrow. Because many of my friends request me to buy something back for them which can be only found at Yaowarat so we decided to make a visit there again and this time we took a tuk-tuk there straight from our hotel.

Ripley's Believe It or Not!

Monday, December 23, 2013
Today we are getting out of Bangkok to the World of Entertainment at Pattaya! There are many ways to get to Pattaya by road, however we are going there by van which is quite a unreliable but fast option and will be coming back by bus.

Van services can be found at BTS Victory Monument, cost per person to Pattaya is 100 Baht

Why do I say that it is unreliable is because they do things without us knowing and they do not have a proper system of handling things. When we reach the ticketing counter a random guy approach us and asked us where is our destination and then they will collect the money from us for the ticket and we were told to wait "there" which is a no queue waiting area for the van to pick us up, they didn't even let us know the route that they are going and we have no idea of where the van is going to stop at.

Luckily the last stop is near the place where we want to go which is Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, upon arrival we can easily spot the hot air balloon which is one of the attraction at the museum, just walk towards it and there we are at the Royal Garden Plaza.

Kitto Japanese Restaurant, Chatuchak

Sunday, December 22, 2013

Just a summarise of today activity. Woke to big commotion today at around 11:00 AM then was held up at 7-11 because of some matter instead of being at Chatuchak weekend market doing our shopping and we are only free until 5:00PM. Knowing that Chatuchak close at 6:00PM we still make our trip there. How our hunt be like? Read on to find out.

Chatuchak, Chao Phraya River Cruise

Saturday, December 21, 2013

It's weekend, and it's my Birthday today! In Bangkok there is a must go place for shopping every weekend and it is the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Why? Because the staff here are all friendly, items are cheap and Chatuchak weekend market is the world largest weekend market, it covers over 35 acres and have around 15,000 stalls! Hearing that it close at 6:00 pm so what's our plan for my birthday night? I love waterfront dinning and tonight we will be having our dinner at the Chao Phraya River Cruise!

Thai Airway, Bangkok Loft Inn, Asiatique

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Hi ya! On my previous trip to Bangkok I have been visiting places of interest and theme park but for this trip it is going to be a shopping spree for my boyfriend and I, we will be staying in Bangkok for 10 days in two different hotels and also visiting another province travelling as a couple.

Before departure to Bangkok

Wednesday, December 18, 2013
Good morning! Time check 4:00 PM, my flight will be 24 hours from now. It has been 3 years since I visited Bangkok.

For this trip I have already standby my mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, tripod, camera lenses, camera bag and laptop. Now I come to think of it, I am not there for a photography trip!

My aim for this trip is for shopping and leisure, because of the time I have lost with my boyfriend I have to cherish it more and spend more quality time with him. Therefore I decided not to bring those thing anymore as I think that it will put more on weight on us which is a burden and taking the right photograph will spend a lot of time, it will also allows me neglect my boyfriend which is not worth it so why not just relax and enjoy while we can. However, I will be bringing a compact camera with me so that I can have some good quality photograph to update my blog when I am back. I am sorry to my readers that I have to be selfish for once but you all must know that I still have a thought of you.

A view of ITE student

Thursday, December 12, 2013
It's Thursday! If you have been following up on my Cyber Wellness post I guess you might be curious that why it that post not appearing yesterday? I am sorry but Chapter 7 is the last chapter on my notes, I could do a few more post by myself on Cyber Wellness if you all like it, do comment and let me know.

As you know my exam is over, I will be heading to Bangkok with my boyfriend next week! In the meantime I am looking out for talents and events job so that I can have extra money to save and spend. I can't wait for my final result to be out because it will determine my future. I am not afraid to tell you that I am from ITE because ITE is just a stepping stone for me and also ITE doesn't stands for "It's The End", to me It's To Excel.

In my 2 years of ITE I have gain a lot of opportunities in life and had won numerous awards, without ITE I will not have the chance to showcase and find my true self.

These are my consideration after getting my result: (1 holds the highest priority)

  1. Local Polytechnic
  2. Full-time Job
  3. Private Diploma
  4. ITE Higher-Nitec
Everyone has a goal in their life, to some people they set goal to just to have a sense of accomplishment, to some people they do it for someone else.

For me? I can say that I am doing it for someone else or maybe doing it for my own future. My grandmother pass away not long after I get my N-Levels result, at that time she thought that I was in a local polytechnic but that fact is I am in ITE. Years ago I still do not know the importances of studies, I don't even know or care about grading because all my parent want to see is a "PASS" and they will be satisfied.

Years ago I got GPA 1 for my first term, at the point of life I don't even know what is GPA and what is it for. After that term I quitted school, after another year I re-join back and quitted again, during that period of time I had accumulate quite a lot of work experiences in different trades. Until last year I joined back ITE, that was the time where I really take things studies seriously because I know that I am still young and working during my youth age cannot bring me anyway far, once people stop schooling all they can do is work for their entire life and I don't want my life to stop just there.

In my first term for last year in ITE I scored a GPA of 4, but it dropped gradually. In ITE NITEC there is a total of four term, to determine where are we able to go after ITE we need to see our overall GPA which consist of the accumulative GPA from the four term.

Local Polytechnic

My overall GPA for the past three term is 3.4, to get into a local polytechnic in Singapore we need to have a minimum of 3.5 GPA. So...  to go to poly or not? It is not up to me who decided because I have already tired my best and given my all for my final exam. All I can do is to wait for my final result that will be out at the end of this month.

I really hope to get into a local polytechnic and have already chosen some course that I wanted to applied for and looking forward to it. I have confidence in myself but still.. there will still be times where I feel that can't make it. It will be the best if I can get into a local poly, even if I can't get into any it is still not the end of the world yet haha because there is still many alternative available.

Full-time Job

Yes, a full-time job! If I can't get into any local polytechnic then I shall just look for a job but then my learning journey will not just stop here. I will spend some time to work so that I can save up enough money for my further studies. When you can't get into a government school there's still a private school waiting for you, all you need is $$. At the meantime I will also have the money to buy anything I want.

Private Diploma

When I can't get into a local polytechnic this is where the money I have earned will come in handy. Unlike the local poly where I am restricted to choosing a related course which I have studied in ITE, in a private school I can choose to study other unrelated courses that I like.

Take up an 8-month full-time diploma with Kaplan Singapore and get a $500 study rebate!
You could complete a full-time diploma with Kaplan in just 8 months and gain direct entry to the 2nd year of our Bachelor’s degree!

ITE Higher-Nitec

Hmmmm, to me this is not a very wise choice. For my GPA now I can already apply for a Higher-Nitec course but I wouldn't want to waste the time here because when I have completed my Higher-Nitec I will already be 21 or 22 years old and that doesn't guarantee me that I can get into a local polytechnic if I have completed my Higher-Nitec. Even if I have completed my Higher-Nitec, for the course will I get to choose in local polytechnic applying using Higher-Nitec certificate will differ from applying a local polytechnic course using my NITEC certificate AND for the course in local polytechnic using my Higher-Nitec certificate to apply will be more in depth to Information-Technology where I am not sure whether I can take it or not, for the course where I want to apply using my NITEC certificate is mostly a hybrid course which I can learn more than IT.

In this visit I get to choose any services I like and it is a sponsored one, I suddenly felt so pampered for a moment haha.

Paris Hilton Sunglasses - A protective eye wear is needed to shield off the scorching sun, this is one unique design that I will love to have.
Casio EXILIM EX-TR15, White - Best selfie camera ever or can I call it every girl dream camera?
Beats by Dre - Heartbeats by Lady Gaga - Beautiful design and good music quality, heard from a sales person that it is better than the brand that I am currently using now.

Cyber Wellness - Values

Chapter 7
Promote cyber wellness values

Overview of warning signs, tips and advice on Internet safety

Am I spending too much time on internet? Am I addicted to internet gaming? With the internet permeating into almost every aspect of lives, there is no doubt that the extent of these concerns will deepen with time.

Five 'C's of Cyber Wellness - Community, Contact, Content, Confusion and Commerce - a structure which youth developers can use to promote cyber wellness values in their communities and families.
  1. Community
    • Safe and healthy communities (both real life and online) form the foundation for Cyber Wellness.
  2. Contact
    • Online interactions often decrease one's alertness to personal safety – beware that there is no sure way of discerning whether an online contact is truthful or safe!
    • No matter how long you chat with people online, they are still strangers – do not get sweet-talked.
  3. Content
    • Content available on the Internet cannot be effectively regulated. You are the best filter.
  4. Confusion
    • Pursue your dreams with focus. Do not fail to achieve because of Internet addiction
  5. Commerce
    • Increased connectivity on the Internet increases the risk of security breaches.

Community & Contact

Connecting with other people on the Internet is one of the most popular activities among youths today, especially activities such as email and chatting.

Instant Messaging/ICQ

Instant messaging systems such as MSN Messenger, ICQ and Yahoo! Messenger are popular. Some points to keep in mind:
  • Engage in one-to-one messaging
  • However, other users may try to contact you
  • Choose whether or not to respond - the choice is yours
  • Choose not to chat with anyone else other than friends
  • Be very careful about information you give out
  • Block individuals you want to ignore

Chat Tips

Chatting online in a chat room (e.g. IRC) or a forum can be fun and enriching. To keep it fun and safe adopt the following principles:
  • Do not give out personal information such as telephone numbers or home addresses
  • Put pick nicknames that are not suggestive; obviously with names like sexy16, you are likely to get a lot of unwanted attention
Find out more later in my blog, next week perhaps? See you! :)

Do Not Call!

Tuesday, December 3, 2013
Do you find advertisement messages annoying or do you not want to waste your time on answering anonymous call? I do. From now on annoying messages and unwanted message will be gone.

My dad is very concern about unknown's sending him spam/hoax/ads messages and receiving calls from telemarketer so I thought that this would be something beneficial for people who are like him. In this blog entry you will find out how to prevent organisations from contacting you without your clear consent.

What is DNC Registry?

The Do No Call (DNC) Registry is a database that stores subscriber telephone number. Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), organisations will have to check with the DNC Registry to ensure that they do not send unsolicited telemarketing messages to consumers who have registered.

Who is PDPA?

The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) is a Singapore Government statutory body established on 2 January 2013 to administer and enforce the Personal Data Protection Act. They recognise both the rights of individual to protect their personal data and the needs of organisations to collect, use or disclose personal data for legitimate and reasonable purposes.

What is marketing messages?

This is a good example of marketing message:

Non-telemarketing messages, such as those relating to surveys and customer service, are excluded from the scope of the DNC Registry.

What is not a marketing message:
  • Service call eg. reminder of and appointment
  • Market survey or research
  • Charitable or religious causes eg. donations to a charitable organisation
  • Business-to-Business eg. corporate insurance as opposed to personal insurance

Why register?

If you hate receiving annoying messages and call then this would be a good reason to register. After registration organisations cannot send unsolicited telemarketing messages to the phone number you have registered. It help you to reduce the number of unwanted telemarketing messages and calls receive.

How to register? (Consumer)

You can start registering TODAY!

There are three kind of registration for consumer to choose from:

  1. No voice call
  2. No text message
  3. No fax message

Registration Method:

Send an SMS with the message ‘DNC’ to the following numbers:
78772 - Express registration on all 3 Registers
78773 - Express registration on No Voice Call Register only
78774 - Express registration on No Text Message Register only
78771 - Guided menu for all options (including to deregister)
  • Toll Free Number Registration
You can call any of the toll free numbers listed below.
1800 248 0772 - Express registration on all 3 Registers
1800 248 0773 - Express registration on No Voice Call Register only
1800 248 0774 - Express registration on No Text Message Register only
1800 248 0771 - (Available in 4 languages) Voice guided menu for all options (including to deregister)

Things to take note:

You make still receive telemarketing calls after registration:
  • Within 30 days after registration (for registration on or after 2 July 2014)
  • Within 60 days after registration (for registration before 2 July 2014)
  • If you have given clear consent to specific organisations (before/after registration) for telemarketing.
  • From overseas telemarketing messages for overseas product and service only (no link to any Singapore organisations)

What to do? (Organisations)

We all know telemarketing is an effective way to reach out to consumer when doing sales. So, what will happen to the telemarketer after you have registered under the DNC Registry?

Organisations will have to check your number with the DNC Registry to ensure that you have registered for the DNC Registry before conducting telemarketing activities, unless clear consent has been obtain that you allows that organisation to contact you. Additionally, organisations will need to provide contact information in the telemarketing messages and ensure that the calling line identity is displayed when making telemarketing calls.

For organisations who are not sending non-marketing messages they do not need to check with the registry.

I remember me doing a photo-walk along the street of Orchard Road last year during Christmas season. This year I am doing it again with my group of photography friends, unfortunately it was raining and I couldn't capture much great shot.

Christmas on A Great Street is an iconic festive light-up that takes place annually on Orchard Road, the Great Street is transformed into an enchanting winter wonderland of twinkling stars and sparkling diamonds in hues of blue and white.

Hmm, how much have we changed compared to last year shot?

Dress up, doll up and stand a chance to win some great prizes in time for Christmas shopping!
All you need to do is to snap a photo or video of your White Xmas Look and upload it onto Instagram.

This is my outfit of the day, I know this colour combination doesn't match but then I need something white to create a white Christmas look. So ya...

Along Orchard you will also find Christmas cut-outs that will undoubtedly bring many moments of joy to the faces peeking through them.

Relax your mind with the glittery lights running down the walls with blue and white lines along the street, and yes this was my chosen pair of Skechers.

This is one of my favourite road to walk during this season because there are a lot of christmas cut out available for you to pose with them.

At this place you can also find a walk way that "snows" at a certain timing.

Although this photo is kind of out-of-focus but I still like it because of the snow, hehe.

To enhance the festive shopping experience, Orchard Road Business Association has unveiled its Walking Map, a new navigation function phone/tablet application which shoppers can download into their mobile devices. Now you can wander through the Christmas crowd without losing your way!
